First commissions in public space
Shepherd - 1997, Berkel Enschot, at the retirement of the last major of Berkel Enschot
Muse - 1998, De Vlasborch in Vught
Placed in the garden of a complex of homes for the blind and partially sighted. The question was to design a statue at the entrance of the newly built residential area, to welcome visitors but also residents. The muse is a bending giantess, firmly rooted in the ground, like a tree. While bending, she is still 225 cm. high and she has a wind chime in her head. This makes a subtle sound when the wind blows, it is the sparkling brain of the muse.
